MASTERTON NOTES
The Wellington Military .Soi-vicc Board concluded its sitting at Masterton on Wednesday, having dealt with ninety-seven cases. The Courthouse was Ailed with an interested public throughout the whole of the three days' sitting. The board left for Palmcrston North" on Thursday. A teachers' and Civil Service examination is at present being held in tho Masterton Technical School. Owing to the high prices ruling for stook, a. butchery establishment in Masterton has heencompelled to put up the shutters. Tho first Saturday troop train to Maetcrton from the Featherston Camp is to bo run on Saturday. Provision has beon made for tho entertainment of tho visitors at various forms of sport. Tho drain upon the lahour resources is heginning to be seriously felt in the Wairarapa, particularly by farmers. Ploughmen and harvesters are in keen request. #
