GERMAN BURGLARS
OPEN MUNICIPAL SAFES. London, January 8. The "Daily Mail" reports that a Paris trader from Lille states that the Geraaus burglariously opened the municipal safes and removed the bullion. They also seized satins, silks, and other goods from the shops for the purpose of making sandbags. Officers frequently send wagon-loads of woods from Belgium to be sold on their behalf.—Aus.-N.Z.
