"Anzac" Wedding at Wanganui. gi A pretty "Anzac" v?eddiug took placo ti at Christ Church, Wanganui, on Wed- C ; neday afternoon inst, when Mr. James It. Moore, of ''Puketoi," Pahiatua, youngest son of Mr., Fred Moore, of "Ratanui," Scdgebrook, Wnngamii, was married to Miss Nancy Cameron, eldest daughter of Sir. Allan Cameron, of "Maraiigai," Wanganui. , The Von. Archdeacon Hoove officiated, and there was a large attendance of relatives. The church was prettily decorated. Khaki was a prominent colour, among tho guests there being members of the Defonco Headquarters Staff and a largo number of returned soldiers. Mr. K. Baird, of Masterton, was best man, and Mr. Haddon Smith, of Pahiatua, groomsman, both close comrades of the bridegroom at Gallipoli. The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in pink taffeta, veiled irith white silk net, made with panniers, and fichu bodice, and she carried a beautiful sheaf of white lilies. All the dresses were early Victorian in style. ' The. two elder bridesmaids, M.iss Elspctli Cameron and Mi'sr Barbara Cameron, wore dresses ..of pale pink ninon, veiled .witli vieivx rose nihon, and ivory Georgette Puritan capes, with large black picture hats. The two younger bridesmaids, Miss Jean Cameron and Miss Nancy Cowper, wore palo pink ninon frocks, veiled with ivory ninon, and ninon mob-caps. All tho bridesmaids carried bouquets of pink and mauve sweet peas and asparagus fern. Mrs. Cameron, the bride's mother, was gowned in black chiffon taffeta silk, tho bodice being of white shadow Ince, veiled with black ninon. Mrs. Fred. Moore wore a black silk coat and skirt, with lace collar. Mrs. Norman Moore wore a cream costume of tussore silk, with rosu pink hat. Mrs. Wyveon Moore wore a costumo of pink ninon and largo black picture hat trimmed with roses. 3Vrs. Broad's costume was one of a cream tussore, trimmed with cornflower blue flowers. Sho wore a eream straw picture hat with flowers to match. 'Mrs. Krull woro a crept , de chine chiffon taffeta costume with panniers; Miss Brewen, an electric blue taffeta; Mrs. Reeve wore a navy blue chiffon taffeta made in pinafore stylo, with large grey pictiiru liat; Mrs. Hugh Campbell, of Hawke's Biiy, black and white crepe de chine; and Mrs. Toxward, of Palmerston North, a navy blue crepe de chino costume. As tho bride and bridegroom left the church to the strains of the Wedding March, played by Mr. Webb, they passed through ii beautiful floral arch, upheld by a number of returned soldiers. They were preceded by Boy Scouts, who strewed roses in their path. After the ceremony a reception was held at '■'Mai-a-ngai," the residence of tho bride's parents. At tho conclusion of the reception tho bridc_ and bridegroom left by motor for their future home. A Busy Day. , It was a .very busy day indeed for tho hostesses and their helpers at the Soldiers' Club; Sydney Street, yesterday. Something like over 1000 of tho men who havo been on leave wero returning to camp, the majority of them coming from tho south by tho steamer •Tβ raw-era. " Most of them mado a beeline for tho club in Sydney Street, and Mrs. Earle and her assistants found it diflicult to keep paoo with tho demand, for refreshments Fortunately the hostess of the previous evening (Mrs. L. Blundell) had loft over «. good supply of ca.'tcs, etc., and these served to supplement the supply laid in for Sunday. The men greatly appreciated, tho .enterprise of tho club : in catering for their refreshment, and it indeed is doubtful if many of them would have been ablo to satisfy their needs but for the interest the club takes in them. Some of the ladies "' were down at the club as early as 7 o'clock in'the. morning, and after providing breakfast, supplied a light lunch to tho. late-comers.:' Mi s. Salmoud was in chargo in the afternoon. It was probably a record day for Sirs'. Chattield, in charge of the overcoats and parcels department; many hundreds of the-men taking advantage of the facility afforded by tho club for I the caro of tho soldiers' overcoats and parcels.

A pretty wedding was celebrated at tlio Emmanuel Congregational Church hist week, when Miss-Eva Stout, only daughter of .Mr., and Mrs. George. Strmt, of l'almerston North, was married tn Mr. H. -T. Tallcy, of Wellington, says the "Manawatu Standard." Tho bride's gown was of. silk poplin, over winch iho wore a veil and orange blossoms. The three bridesmaids were Miss Tolley, sister of the bridegroom. Miss King, of Nelson, and littlo Kathleen Gunn, cousin of the bride.
