GIRL'S UNUSUAL PLIGHT
STRANGE HAPPENING- IN AUCK-
LAND. By Telegraph—Pr«a Association. Auckland, January 4. An extraordinary incident occurred in the Grey Lynn district early this morning. A car from Grey Lynn was.passing Selwyn Road when the Moorman and conductor noticed that a form which they bad observed on-the outward trip was still lying on the footpath. The tram was brought to a, standstill, and the two officials Pr o " ceeded to investigate. They found that) the form, which had attracted their attention was that of a girl about 2u vears of aae. She was in-a semi-con* scions condition, having evidently been quite recently seized with an eoueptic fit. The tramwavmen lifted the girl into the car and 'conveyed her to the Newton Police Station. The officer m charge ouestioned the girl, but she could only give very meagre mformstion ahout herself, berag still only haltsensible. She stated -that her name was Violet Cole, and' that .she had only come to Auckland three days ago from her home in the Gisborne district. She said she had been staying in Auckland with her undo, whose name she said was Henrv Cole. As to the latter's address her mind, however, was Blank. The stra\iec part of the affair is that neither police nor the hospital authorities linvo ,so far. received inquiries regarding-the patient. r
