His Excellency tho Governor has received the following telegram from! General Sir Archibald Murray, Com-* mander-in-Cbief of the British Forces in Egypt:—

"I desire to inform Your Excellency personally of my high appreciation of tho brilliant work performed by the Australian and New Zealand mounted troops during the operations at 101 Arlsh, and also in the action at Magviohaba, .vhicli took place on December 23. "The column, which consisted , of Australians and New Zealanders under Brigadier-General Chaytor, with, camel battalions (of which apart were New Zealanders), were all under the command of General Chauvol. ,

"The sucedsses which were outainod were due both to General Chauvel's brilliant handling of his troops, and to the- dash and gallantry displayed by. all Tanks under his command.
