RETURNED WOUNDED SOLDIERS

By Telegraph—Pre6S Association, e 1 Auckland, December 25. Thirty-one siok and wounded/include ,ing four officers, arrived from London by steamer yesterday morning. The southern soldiers left for their homes' by train.
'A : party of returned soldiers, twelve) ill number, in charge of Captain Hill, arrived' in Wellington by the Aucklandmail train yesterday afternoon. They had come to Auckland by the Tainui/ having been invalided home from EngThey were met on arrival at) Wellington station by the Mayor (Mr. J. E. 'Luke), Major Corrigan, and Messrs. Harper and Fqx (representing the .Returned Soldiers' Association). The party were taken to 'the Returned Soldiers' Club and welcomed and entertained in the club. In future . all parties of returned men will be welcomed) at the Returned Soldiers' Club, but this is the first on which this new scheme has been tried. The experiment, which the Returned Soldiers' Association suggested soma, months ago, proved on its first trial very satisiactory for all concerned.
