It is reported that the Germans have levied four million sterling <-n Bucharest, and have ordered Rumanian paper money to bear the German stamp to the amount of 15 per cent, of the face value. Germany has promised full civil and political liberties to the Jews.—Heater. hun~wa¥ning NO INCREASE IN RATIONS (Rec. December 21, 9.15 p.m.) . Berne, December 20. The German Government has issued through the "Cologne Gazette" and other newspapers a warning that the corniest.of Rumania would not produce any immediate relief :in connection with the food supply, adding: "It is impossible to increase the rations of bread, meat, or anything."—Aus.-N.Z. The Greek Government, in a Note to the Allies, protested against the landing of Venizelists under the protection of the Allies in the various islands., and demanded the restoration of the islands.—Router.
