XMAS MAIL ARRANGEMENTS

Mails for dispatch by steamers sailing on. Christmas Day will close at B.p.m. on tho previous Saturday; also the mail for America, /and United Kingdom, via Vancouver, will close at ; B p.m. ''on Saturday: The only dispatches ■of mails by trains on. Christmas Day iv'ill close as follows:—For ■' AVairarapa, Hawko's Bay, Manawatu,. On Tuesday, December 26 (Boxing Day), the Chief Post Office will bo open in all its branches (except Honey Order and Savings Bank) from 9 to 10 a.m. Mails for dispatch by steamers will close at 8 a.m., and the only dispatches of mails by trains will close aa follows:—For .Wairarapa, Hawko's Bay, Manawatu, llangitikei, Wanganui, and Taranaki districts at 5.45 a.m., for Auckland and Auckland district at 8 a.m. There will be one delivery by letter carriers in the city and suburbs, for which correspondence must be posted at the Chief Post Office by 7 a.m. Tho street receivers will not bo cleared during tlie day; midnight clearances will be made as usual.
