XMAS MAIL ARRANGEMENTS
On Saturday, December 23, the letter carriers will make a full afternoon delivery in the city and suburbs, for which correspondence- must be posted at the- Chief Post.Office by 1.40 p.m. Correspondence addressed to streets in the city and suburbs will be delivered from the letter carriers' department (entranco upstairs from Featherston Street at the Chief Post Office) from 8 to 9 p.m., also the . public delivery, counter .will Lbe open for delivery of correspondence addressed to the Chief Post Office from 8 to 9 p.m. The parcel delivery counter will be open from Bto 9 p.m. The mail for America' and United Kingdom, via Vancouver, will close at 8 p.m. On Monday, December 25 (Christmas Day), tho Postal Department will be closed in all its brandies. Mails for dispatch by steamers sailing on. Christmas Day will close at B.p.m. on tho previous Saturday; also the mail for America, /and United Kingdom, via Vancouver, will close at ; B p.m. ''on Saturday: The only dispatches ■of mails by trains on. Christmas Day iv'ill close as follows:—For ■' AVairarapa, Hawko's Bay, Manawatu,. Rangitikci' Waugamu, and Taranaki districts at 5.40 a.m., for Auckland and Auckland district at 8 a.m."The city and 'suburbs Teceivers will not.be cleared during the day, but the •midnight clearances will he made as usual. '
On Tuesday, December 26 (Boxing Day), the Chief Post Office will bo open in all its branches (except Honey Order and Savings Bank) from 9 to 10 a.m. Mails for dispatch by steamers will close at 8 a.m., and the only dispatches of mails by trains will close aa follows:—For .Wairarapa, Hawko's Bay, Manawatu, llangitikei, Wanganui, and Taranaki districts at 5.45 a.m., for Auckland and Auckland district at 8 a.m. There will be one delivery by letter carriers in the city and suburbs, for which correspondence must be posted at the Chief Post Office by 7 a.m. Tho street receivers will not bo cleared during tlie day; midnight clearances will be made as usual.
