WORLD'S PRESS CONGRESS

NOT TO BE POSTPONED. (Rec. December 20,10.15.p.m.) Sydney,' December 20. Mr. Holman, in reply to the Journalists' Institute, points out that the Press _ Congress was an_ international organisation, the constitution providing for a meeting every three years. If the meeting is not held in Australia in 1918 it would be held somewhere else that year, with-the-result that Australia would be unlikely to secure a similar meeting 'for many years. In view of the immense'advantage accruing from the meeting, ho cannot see that any conditions had yet arisen to justify the New South Wales Government repudiating the invitation to the conference to meet in Sydney. He was assured the Allied countries under any circumstances would be well represented. —Press ■ Association. ■
