Mails for dispatch by stea' mers sailing on Christmas Day will closo at 8 p.m. on the previous Saturday; also the mail for America and United Kingdom/ via Vancouver, will cloHe at 8 p.m. on Saturday. The only dispatches of mails by trains on Christmas Day will close as follows:—For Wairarapa, Hawke's Bay, Manawatu, Rangitikei, Wanganui, and Taranalii districts at 5.45 a.m., for Auckland and Auckland district at 8 a.m. The City-and suburbs receivers, will not be cleared during the day, but the midnight clearances will'be mado as usual. On Tuesday. December 26 (Boxing Day), the Ohief Post Office will be open in all its branches (except Money-order and Savings Bank) from 9to 10 a.m. Mails for dispatch by' steamers will close at 8 a.m. and the only dispatch of mails by trains will close 'as follows:—For Wairarapa, Hawke's Bay, Manawatu, Rangitiksi, Wanganui, and Taranaki, districts at 5.45 a.m., for Auckland' and Auckland district at 8 a.m. There will bo one 'delivery by letter-carriers in the City and suburbs for which correspondence must be posted at tho Chief Post, Office by 7 a.m. The street receivers will not be cleared during tho day; midnight clearances will be made as usual. p DRYDEN, Chief Postmaster. ; Chief Post Office, Wellington, December 20, 1916.
