CENTRAL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

The Wellington Central Chamber of Commerce met yesterday. Mr. C. M. Luke presided.

It was reported that Mr. A. R. Hislop had decided to withdraw his resignation, aud that Mr. J. F. .Atkins had withdrawn his resignation from the council.

The Canterbury Chamber of Commerce sought support for the following resolution:—"That in negstiating for peace the enemy jSlpvernment should be compelled to replace ton for ton of all 6hips destroyed during the war." It was decided to support Canterbury, and suggests an addition covering a request for compensation to relatives of those who have lost their lives aboard such vessels.

Christmas greetings received from the Wellington Harbour Board were reciprocated.
