Dalgcty and Co., Ltd,, Dannevirke, report:—"Wc held our weekly stock salo at tho Dannovirke sale yards on Friday, when we offered a small yarding of sheep, but a fair entry of cattle catno forward, and with the exception of one pen of yearling heifers and three yearling Shorthorn bulls, overything changed hands. Wo quote as follows:—Aged ewes, with a 100 per cent, of lambs at foot £2 75.; yearling steers, bad colours, £6 '45.; yearling dairy heifers, £5 13s. 6d. to £6 10s.; springing heifers, £10 10s., £11, £14; Shorthorn cows, with calves at foot, to

Grown cattle and female stock were slightly easier, but all young steers, especially those showing; quality, sold readily at prices quite equal to late rates. Sheop were in good demand, and all lines sold at auction. Quotations:— Sheep: Ewes and lambs, £2 10s. 2d. to £2 15s. Bd.; 2-tooth ewes, 31b.; 2-tooth wethers, 325. 6d.j mixed 2-tooths, 265. 7d. to 30s. . Cattlo: Small yearling heifers, £4 9s; mixed weaners, bod colours, 305... 6d.; yearling heifers, £5 12s. 6d.; 15-month heifers, £7 2s. 6d. to £7 55.; well-bred 15-mouth steers, to £8 12s. 6d.; 2-yoar heifers, £7 155.; small 2-year steers, £8 10s.; 2-year steers, £10 ss. to £11 Bs.; fat cows, £13, £13 10s., to £14 65.; 3-year steers, £13 6s. to £14 125.'6 d,; forward bullocks, to £16 10s. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Palmerston Xorth, report having a small entry of sheep and a very good entry of cattlo at their Palmerston North, sale on Thursday. While young cattle sold fully; up to late market rates, empty cows showed a slight decline in values. Quotations:— Sheep: Mixed woolly hoggets, 38s. 4d.; light, fat, woolly ewes, 345. Id.; mixed fat ewes and wethers, £2 Os. 6d;; ewes and lambs, £2 12s. sd. Cattle: Yearling heifers,. £6 2s. 6d., £6 35.; backward . storo empty cows. £7; medium store cows. £8 17s. 6d. to £9 5b.; empty forward cows. £ll 55., £12, to £12 4s. 6d.; 2S-year heifers, £8 18s.; cows and calves, £9 15s. to £10 ss. id.; co-ivs in milk, £9 7s. 6d., £10 12s. 6d„ £13, £13 10s„ £14, to £14 10s. Tho New Zealand Loan, and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report holding the following sales during the week. Attendances were good, and full sales effected. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Oompauy, Ltd., report:—At- Palmerston North on Thursday we'had a: fair entry of sheep and a good yarding of cattle. ■ The attendance wns uot quite so good as usual, and several pens failed to make vendor's reservse. There was a very fair attendance at the sale, and we quitted all the stock offered at very.good prices. We quote as follows:— Sheep: Ewes and lambs, 525. • 6d.; small woolly hoggets. 31s. 6d.; shorn hoggets (mixed, sexes), 28s. 7d. Tho Wairarapa Farmers' stock department report having held their weekly sale at Carterton on Friday, when they offered a heavy yarding of cattle, sheep, and pigs. Bidding at auction was not very brisk, hut practically a total clearance was made before the close of the day.
