WEST COAST COAL TROUBLES
STOPPAGE AT PAPAROA. By Telegraph—Press Association. Creymouth, December 2. Tho Paparoa minors at Itoa ceased work to-day, partly out of sympathy with the Blackball men and partly owing to a dispute regarding pillar workings. The management in tho latter connection arc prepared to pay time rates for pillar workings, as are paid at the Liverpool State mine, 1 where the seams are considered i similar. > The Paparoa miners are holding a - meeting to-morrow. > THE GO-SLOW TROUBLE' WITH STATE ; MINERS ■ By Telegraph—Press Association. Creymouth, December 2. At a meeting of State coal mineis last night a report was received from the delegates who had been in_ Wellington in connection with the dispute and the restricted output conditions that have been prevailing for some, weeks. As a motion that the restriction be lifted, was defeated, further motions were refused, and the meeting dispersed without definite action being taken. A further meeting is to be held. Last night's meeting passed a resolution calling on the Minister to exempt tho headmaster of the Runanga School, who was selected for active service in last week's ballot, on the ground that his services are indispensable.
