GONSALEZ ITALIAN GRAND OPERA SEASON

» Arriving to-day by the s.s. Manuka, from Sydney, tho Gonsalez Grand Opera Company will open their much-antici-pated season at the Grand Opera House to-morrow evening, at 8 o'clock. No fewer than five operas wilt bo given during the initial week, "11 Trovatorc," "la Traviata" (Camillo), "Cavalleria Eusticana," "T Pagliaeoi," and "Lucia di Lanimermoor." Tlie production to-morrow night will be "II Trovatorc," with Signorina De Kevers as Eleanore, Signorina Kuss as Azueena, Signor Scamuzzi as Conte di Luna, Signor Cacialli as Ferrente. Sjguor Barontini as Kuitz, and Signor Capelli as Slaurico. Signer Giovanni Gonsalez will conduct, with Ds Tarczyuski as leader of an oronestra whose equal numerically and artistically, it is said, has never been surpassed in grand opera annals in the Dominion. "It Trovatore" will be repeated with tho same lino cast on Wednesday. On Thursday will bo presented "La Traviata," with Signorina Gonsalez as Violettu, Signorina Bclloni us Rora, and Signori Dagradi (Alfredo), Filippiui (G-ermonl), Barontini (Gaslone), Petrucci (Barone Dufal), Cesarom (Dervil), Borghcsi (Marchese Derbley). Signor Ernesto Gonsalez will conduct. "Cavalleria Rnsticana" and "X, Pagliacei" will ho staged lor the lirst lime here on I'ridny. For the matinee on Saturday will be' repeated "Cavalleria" and "Pagliacci," Saturday night being devoted to "Lucia di Lammermoor." The plans for the lirst five nights and matinee are open at tho Bristol. Tho plans for the second week, comprising "La Boheme," "Uu Ballo in Masehera," "Lucia," "Faust," "Rigoletto," "Traviata," will bo opened on Thursday morning next. Lato trains will leave Wellington after tho opera lor the Hutt and Johnsonville.
