Gabriel, of.tho Rombrandt Theatre, Amsterdam,' was last night practically driven by an infuriated audience from his theatre during tho performance of the musical pieco "Proud Thea." Halfway through tho piece, Gabriel left tho condHictor's seat, passed through tho audience, and, in doing so, brushed roughly against a gentleman in tho stalls without an apology. On returning he did tho same thing again, and' it is also alleged that he mado an offensive remark to tho gentleman about keeping his fcot out of the gangway. Gabriel called two attendants, and told them to turn the occupant o| the stall out of the house, but the occupant smiled calmly, and bbgan to read a newspaper. Tiro policemon were next called in, but by this Time the entiro audience, roused to noisy indignation at Gabriel's conduct, was crying "Shaniol" "Scandal I" while the pit and gallery used less Parliamentary terms, of reference to Gabriel's nationality. Tho uproar continued, rendering Gabriel's effort to recommenco tho music impossible, and, finally, another con-' ductor was brought in to complete the' programme, Gabriel beating a rotreat,followed by the angry words of tho entiro audience. ■
