EXPEDITIONARY FORCES
SOME NEW REGULATIONS. Sonie additional rules governing the promotion of officers in the ,Ne\v -Zealand Expeditionary. Force are published in the Gazette. They provide,- among other things, that even' officer invalided or wounded-shall be sent before a Medical Board as soon as possible after evacuation,": Any officer declared by the hoard to be unlikely to be fit, for'service in the. field within three months"' from, date of being boarded will bo placed on .a lisfto.be called the ""Jf,Z:"' Roll," and: will be sent to New Zealand bv.the first New Zealand' transport available after he is fit to travel. No ' evacuated officer Bhall receive "promotion, should I ', a vacancy in his unit occur, if .either the report mentioned on' paragraph (a), is'uusatisfactory or once bis name been placed on the "N.Z. Roll.',' .'.., Z .".... . ' ' " " '■'■ Once an officer's name 'has •heeii placed.on the "N.Z. Roll," no. subse-" nuent vacancy in his unit shall be allowed to defer liis departure.'for .New ' Zoaland. All officers whose names are Placed on the "N.Z/ Roll"'.' shall. ha .. forthwith seconded, from their, units, but' shall not -be- struck -off the strength of the N.Z.E.F.. unless.and.imtil£hey re-, ceive their discharge.- On arrival in New Zealand,' officers' will report' to' Headquarters, who will decide whether • they are to' return to thefront with reinforcements, or to be employed in some other military capacity, "or" to be discharged from the" N.Z.E:F:"
