There was a slight slackening in the demand for dairy stock, but the orpward tendency for all other classes of cattle was maintained.' a total clearance being effected under the hammer. Sheep also sold at well up to •late sales. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Danncvirke, report having held their fortnightly stock sale at Woodvillc on Monday, when they submitted a fair offering of 'Sheep and cattle. AH lines changed hands under the hammer at very satisfactory futures. Quotations are as follow;— Sheep: t pen fat ewes. £2 os. 2d.; 1 pen light fat wethers, shorn, 31s. 6d.; while a nice pen of 50 M.S. woolly hoggets realised 38s. Id. (a record for the yard) Cattle: Cows, springing, £12 155.; forward cows, £10 10s.; store cows, £9 Is.; 15-nionth steers and-heifers. £6 65., £6 125., and £7 15s. AtAddington market.to-day the general yarding of stock was about the same as at tho previous week's sale, fat lambs being slightly more numerous. Fat and 6tore sheep were about the same. Steer beef was' distinctly soarcer. There was a firm and steady demand for practically all classes of stock, and on tho whole prices wcro good, the prospects of raiu giving confidence.
