"The Caravaners." | Reinforcements have arrived for the Spinsters' Caravan, in the shape of two children, who will be arrayed as gipsies, and help to give a very realistic appearance to the caravan. Brooms will be sold, and also poultry. Trained Nurses' Association. The annual meeting of the Trained Nurses' Association was held last night at the dub, Kensington Street, Dr. Young presiding. The association has had a very successful year, and tho balance-sheet showed a very satisfactory condition of atfairs, considering the largo number of nurses absent on duty at.the front The association much _ regretted the resignation of Hiss Payne, the vicerpresident, owing to ill-health. Dr. Young was appoint™ ed to (ill tiie .vacancy. Amongst, the subjects under discussion were a superannuation fund for nurses, and also a nurses' memorial fund, which will bo brought before the public at a later date. Dance for Soldiers In the Town Hall. The Soldiers' Send-off Committee held another of their successful dances at the Town Hall last night, and there was a good attendance of the "soldiers of the King." ±Urs. Scgrief had arranged the musical portion; of the programme, and also sang herself. Miss Clator recited, Miss Price and Mr. Post sang several songs, and the Misses Shepherd recited and played. Though the evening was a very warm one, only tea and coffee were served with aupper. Mrs. Luke explained that tho reason for this was tho fact that no response had been made to hor recent request for donations of soft drinks from the manufacturers. Party at the Pioneer Club. The entertainment given at the Pioneer Club yesterday afternoon in aid of Dr. Agnes Bennett's Serbian Fund was a great success. Tho new membors wcro mainly responsible for tho management of her party, and have been working for some time past at dainty boxes, boudoir caps, embroidered aprons, etc., for the fancy stall. Homemade sweets found a ready sale, and there was a great profusion of flowers) some of which had come all the way from Auckland. Tho members' room was aglow with nasturtiums, and in tho reception room there were plenty of roses and pink gladioli. During the afternoon Mr. Buckeridge, who nau charge of the musical items, sang several times-the "Berceuse," from "Mignon," an Italian song, • bv Francesca Quaranto, and "Through the Day," composed by Miss Medley, who also played tho accompaniment.' Miss Natusch played the other accompaniments. Mrs. A. It. Atkinson, the president, received the guests, and during the afternoon thanked Mr. Buckeridge for his kindness. Flowers were sent by the Mcsdames Coull, Cooke, Gooder, Uttley, T. M'Konzio, Earlc, Mirams, Phillips, Turner. Middleton, and Miss Bannister and Captain "Williams. Tho ladies who had undertaken most of the arrangements for. the party were Mesdaines Bradncy, "Williams, Mirams, M'Kenzic, Jacnbsen, Arderson, Gifford, Dawson, Pringle.. Earle, Alabaster, and the Misses M'lntosh, Pringle, and M'Konzic. Altogether a sum of about £25 was realised .as tho result of tho afternoon's work. .■'.-■'
