THE DRIVERS' DISPUTE
4 AWAITING THE CONFERENCE. There were 110 developments in the drivers' dispute yesterday. A conference between the union and the employers will be held in one of the rooms " in Parliament Buildings to-day. It is, considered that there is reasonable prospect of the dispute being settled at that conference. A PALMERSTON RESOLUTION. Palmerston North, November 27. . By Telegraph—Press Association. At a meeting of the Amalgamated Soj ciety.of Carpenters and Joiners the following resolution, was carried unani* mously:—"That this union sympathise! with the drivers in their endeavoura to obtain a living wage for themselves and families, ana condemns _ the action, of the Arbitration Court in its decision in giving judgment in the case."
