De la Motte,_ who havo _ been appointed chief engineer and chief officer respectively of the Aurora, arrived by tho Paloona. Both served on the Auroia throughout tho whole period of the Australasian .<fntarctic Expedition of 1911-14, under Sir Douglas Mawson, and have been lent to tho Aurora Belief Expedition from the Australian transport service. Mr. T. M. Ryan has been appointed wireless operator. Tho Commonwealth is_ al§o lending other officers, who will join the ship shortly. Tho balanco of officers and crew will Tie obtained in New Zealand.
