Hood Renovations. The care of the liood is a matter to which the average owner pays but lit— tlo attention ,and yet is an item well worthy of the consideration of all unless they are desirous of spending a deal of money unnecessarily. In a long spell of very dry weather, when tho nood may not be in uso for considerable periods, it is advisable to put it up when in tho motor house and to stretch it tightly by means of the straps. Tin's enables it to be kept in its proper shapo and prevents it from becoming worn at tho creases, as it would if Tolded down, whilst it is also advisable occasionally to give it a thorough brushing, as nothing ruins any form of cloth so much as dust. Motor-car manufacturers in America arc turning their attention to ways of making pleasing and useful bodies. One idea is tho individual and movable front seat. Such an arrangement is ver yuseful, for not only can eacli front passenger onjoy riding comfort, but also the car can be utilised in a social way liy turning these seats around in their sockets. The chairs can also be used on the ground! as well, for picnic and'camping expeditions. These seats are also adjustable as to leg-room, by moving them forward or backward within a wide range. A new motor-car record was recently established from Perth to Kalgoorlio (W.A.). The distance; of 365 miles— mostly very rough going—was negotiMr. J.
