Mr. G. Hill was elected as. con- j venor and secretary of' this sub-coni; I mittee. Mr. A. Gray was elected to thi Appeal Committee and was asked to be the convenor. The chairman undertook to call the Finance Committee together with the object of. electing a treasurer. The proposed concert to be held at the Town Hall on December 2 was deferred < owing to some .difficulty in getting the hall for the night. Messrs. Camnbelj and Burke's offer of assistance in erecting stalls was received with thanks. It was arranged that the chairman. Captain Munro and Mr. Phelps should co T operate with a view of instituting the collection of waste paper by school children in order to add to the funds nf the appeal. It was resolved that His Excellency the Governor, the Acting-Prime Minister, Cabinet Ministers, arid the military authorities be asked to extend their patronage to "the apppal. The secretary reported that Mr. Ferguson had undertaken the duties of convenor of the Side-shows Committee.
