Nearly a hundredi cannon have been taken since the beginning or the attack at Mount Kaimaokalan. Heavy losses were inflicted on tho enemy, hut the Allied losses were comparatively light. Tile Serbians fired a million shells in 10 days. The Kenali lines were impregnable from the front. Monastir was won up in the bleak mountains by the splendid Serbian artillery and lnfantrv. When Hill 1212 fell, the enemy was compelled to abandon Monastir, retreating: in disorder from the whole left- front, abandoning dead and wounded and booty. Beyond the Cerna, on the right bank,. the veteran General Stephanovicli captured 'several heights. He is now driving the demoralised enemy without a halt towards tho river. Ho ought in a few hours to threaten the oxits from tiio Babuna Pass. His left wing has been carried to Grondista, and is advancing along the hills on the right bank ot the Cerna. General Mashitch's First Army is sweeping on. He has taken Bernik, north of Iven, and Jarotak. His-finest triumph was the capture of Hill 1378, in the upper Morichovo Mountains, givmg him command of the route to Prilep. The battlefield was covered with enemy dead and shattered guns. It is estimated that the Allies' artillery fired a million projectiles of all calibres, destroying the enemy's defences. As the Germans and Bulgars retreated they set fire to the villages. The new line of defence had been prepared for over a month. It was a regular line of double trenches and wire entanglements.
