THE BALLOT
SCRUTINY NEARLY COMPLETE.
The official scrutiny in connection with the ballot taken -under the Military Service Act last week is likely to he completed to-day, and the "Gazette" containing the names of the men drawn for servioe may be published this evening or to-morrow- morning. Lists will be sent by telegraph to the headquarters of the military districts, in order that, the district staffs may dispatch a; telegram of warning to each of the men ooncerned. The official notices, -which will be dispatched from Wellington by registered post, will follow quickly. Hi should be understood by the men concerned that the period of ten days allowed for the of appeala dates from the publication of th« "Gazette."
