MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING
■A miniature rifle shooting match was fired at Petone on Saturday night, between a team from the Petorio National. Reserve and one from the Wellington' Post and Telegraph ' Engineers. The match resulted in a .win for tho' Petone team, the scores being: Petone 627, P..and T. 584. Tho highest scorers for Petone were: Collins 67, and Sharp 65, while for P. and T. Sergt.-Major M'lCcefry and Corporal Whitmorc, 67' each, shot best. At the conclusion of tho shooting Sergt.Major, M'Keefry, on behalf .of P. 'arid T., congratulated Petone on their win, thanked them for their_ invitation, and for the enjoyable evening spent. Ho regretted that owing to an unfortunate occurrence, the.P. and T. were not represented by the strongest team possible. Corporal Bond, of tho Pctono Pvoserve, who acted as range officer during the evening, suitably replied on behalf of Petone, and also extended an invitation for another match, to bo fired in the near future,' when he hoped that the scores would be more even, and perhaps the result reversed..
