NATIONAL RESERVE
A rifle match took place on Saturday evening at Lower Hntt between the Lower Hutt National Reserve and the B team of the AVellington Post and Telegraph Engineers. .Captain Clapham commanded the Lower Hutt team, and Sergt.-Major Smith the Wellington. The firing was very even, the final totals being Lower Hutt 519, Wellington 499, Lower Hutt thus winning by 20 points. Sergt.-Major Smith complimented the Hutt members on their win, and on behalf of the Post and Telegraph Engineers thanked them for the splendid, manner in which ttiey were helping the younger members of the'corps by arranging these matches. Unfortunately he was unable to offer them a return match on the miniature range of the G.P.0., as the Department had not provided them with an entrance any'other'' than through the departmental rooms. Captain Clapham, in replying, said that the National Reserve members were only too pleased to help the members of younger clubs.
