POLITICAL FEDERATION OF TRANSPORT WORKERS
MOVE BY TAUMARTJNTJI RAILWAY EMPLOYEES. By Telegraph—Press Association. Taumarunui, November 21. The Taumarunui railway employees liave Tesolved:— "This branch considers that the timo has arrived when a serious • attempt should be made to consolidate labour, and recommends the executive to discuss the desirability of inviting all sections of transport workers to federate on political lines, with the expressed object of electing a Labour Government at next election. We do not propose to federate on the industrial lines of tho platform of those who want to organise in this way. We cannot recommend this <to our fellow workers. We do not believe in direct action, as everything we want is obtainable in a reasonable and legitimate manner. Should the executive approve of the suggestion, we desire that they should take immediate steps, to obtain the feeling of the branches, and ascertain what further action is necessary."
