" MOTOR-CAR, MISHAP.. ' A motor-car accident occurred on the Hutt Road, near Thomdon, at about 4.30 o'clock yesterday morning. Two men, one Ernest Trerire, of Buller Street, and another whose name is not known, were coming towards the city when they were.injured. Trerire was badly hurt on the head, right aim, and right leg. His companion escaped injury, and brought Treriro to tbe Thorndon car sheds, employees in tho shed taking tho injured man to tie Hospital in a tram. The manner in -which, Trerire received his injuries is not known. HARBOURMASTER'S SON ' DROWNm By' Telegraph—Press Association. Greymouth, November 21. _ Ivan Cox, aged 14, a son of Captain Cox, Harbourmaster,, was drowned while bathing at Cohden' this evening. It appears that the lad could swim, but. he became exhausted and sank before help arrived. Tho body was recovered an hour after tho accident. DIED FROM. BURNS.' Auokland, November 21. Lily Williams, a married. woman, died in tho Hospital from burns caused by bedroom curtains catching fire. SUICIDE OP A FARMER. Blenheim, November 21. . George Barnes,'about 55 years of ago, a farmer at Seddon, escaped from Blenheim Hospital, and was found / hanging from a tree on the outskirts of the town. He was mentally defective.
