HEART-RENDING SCENES

A' correspondent of the "Chicago News," in an interview with _an American bnsinesa _ man, describes heartrending scenes in connection with the deportations in' Belgium. The American Relief Commission has given a 'hundred thousand Belgians tho protection'of certificates, .but this is_ a small part of the total number subject to impressment. "I saw a long train of cattle trucks full of deportees. , Many of them resisted, only to feel the German bayonets. Women fought with men. When the train was departing a huge crowd of women and children ran to the line in front of tho locomotives, and threw themselves on the rails. Tho soldiers prised them loose with bayonets. _ Frenchmen from the occupied provinces are forced to work in Belgium to replace tho deported Belgians." GERMAN HATE IN GERMAN PULPITS ' EXTRAORDINARY CAMPAIGN OF FEROCITY. (United Service.) (Rec. November 20, 6.20 p.m.) London, November 19. A distinguished neutral says: "The attitude of the German churches against Britain is most venomous, and particularly so against missionaries from British possessions. The wholo of the Church and the Navy League are keeping up a violent hate campaign by leaflets, sermons, Suuday school hymns, newspaper articles, and picture films. The Eastern Day sermons and prayers wero extraordinarily bloodthirsty, advocating increased frightfulneas ou sea and in the air, wbilo many of the collections were devoted to the Zeppelin Fund. The whole olorical campaign is apparently inspired by the Government, which sends to the clergymen a. copious weekly budget of bate propaganda material, which is used in sermons and in pastoral visits;' l
