Adkins has signed off the Kowhai, and has been replaced by Captain Nellenowith. Captain Croft, late of the Victoria, is now in command of the C.J.S., which is now loading at Premantle. Captain H. L. Brown, of the liner Essex, went ashore at Sydney recently on sick leave, and was relieved by Captain Williams. Wireless advice received from the Moeraki, en route from Sydney, yesterday stated that the vessel would arrive in port at 8 o'clock this morning, and would berth at No. 1 north Queen's Wharf. The Karama is Sue this morning with a cargo of timber from Grcymouth. The Karu, which arrived in port yesterday morning with a load of timber to discharge, will leave for New Plymouth on completion here. The Poheraa is expected hero on Tuesday from Bluff. Dunedin. Oamaru. and Timaru, and will leave for Westport and Grcymouth on completion of discharge. The Monowai left Auckland shortly after 7 p.m. on Saturday, and is due hero tomorrow with 662 tons to discharge. An arrival at Auckland on Friday morning' was the barnuentine Senorita, from Clarencetown, via Newcastle. The vessel left Clarencetown on September 21, and was being towed down the Hunter River when the towlinc parted, the vessel drifting on to the rocks. Examination revealed that for a length of some feet her forefoot had been badly smashed, and she ■was docked at Newcastle for repair. The voyage was resumed on October 26. and, with the exception of some heavy rain, a good trip was experienced to the Dominion. Her cargo consists of about SCO tons of dressed timber, principally electric poles and sleepers. The P. and S. Line adviso that tho Cumberland, at present loading at Waitara, is due in Wellington to-morrow. Advice from Auckland states that the Strathesl; is duo there from New York, via Panama Canal, on December 15. She will afterwards come on to Wellington. The. Kirkoswald loads for the same line at ,New York about, the middle of next' month. The Ngatoro, which left here, on Saturday evening, leaves Grcymouth on return to-day, and is due hero on Wednesday morning. The Ngakuto, leaves Lyttelton to-day,' and will load at Grcymouth on Wednesday for Wellington, a'nd is duo hero on Friday. According to present arrangements, tho Government steamer Hinemoa will leave on her trip round tho northern lighthouses and harbours on Wednesday morning Tho Hinemoa arrived in port from the Straits lighthouses on Saturday. Captain Bollons reports that th© weather, was not good in the Straits, and delayed operations. All the visits were made.successfully, however. No trouble has yet arisen amongst tho crew of the.Hincmoa in connection witH the "cent blacklisting" of the. three Government steamers.
