'Some little time ago tho friendly societies of Wellington had u disagreement with the Wellington branch of the British Medical Association, as the result of which a breach occurred over the matter of monetary contributions lor. medical attendance,.and the socic- . ties, working in concert, ' imported ' threo medical men from England. , Whilst the negotiations between the societies and the medical fraternity ■ were in progress, tho committee of the New Zealand Natives' Association got into, touch with the British Medical Association with a'view'to securing -a medical r.eryico for their -members, on a mutually satisfactory' basis. These negotiations have brought about the desired result, for an arrangement has been' completed; whereby medical benefits will be given to members of the association on a financial basis of fid. per week per member, payable, of course, to tho 'association. This will give members of the association the right to call on the services of practically any member of the Wellington branch of tho British Medical Association practising in Wellington. •'lt is intended that the now branch of the New Zealand Natives' Association's activities will be commenced almost immediately. .
