London, November 16. An official communique from Salonika states:—"The British carried the village of Kakaraski, oh the eastern shore of Lake Tahinos. The Bulgarians fell back to the left bank of the Nihor. Despite rain and snow, our offensive, on the Cerna front was. continued successfully. Viqjpnt countcr-at-taoks were repulsed, and the French and Serbians advanced north of Taperei towards Jaratok. The enemy west of the Cerna abandoned his principal position. Tho French and Russians are pursuing the enemy north of Kenali, and have reached the right bank of tho Biro River, three and throe-quar-ter miles south of Monastir." The capture of Kenali, and the flight of the German-Bulgar forces indicate decisive happenings in Macedonia. The Allies havo reached the plain, and are within 3| miles of Monastir. Hitherto it has only been possible to advance across the rugged mountains from tile east to west by a gap eight miles wide, through which runs tho Monastir railway. The Serbians fougiit with magnificent valour, though the Germans and Bulgars defended their entrenched positions with desperation, these being repeatedly retaken. All the Serbian gains have how been definitely secured. The enemy's, losses werq very severe. The greater part of the prisoners are Germans, proving that Germany has sent heavy reinforcements to Macedonia. GREEK ARMY REDUCED TO PEACE FOOTING . ' ALLIES' GRANT TO VENIZELIST. GOVERNMENT. It is believed that the Note explained the reasons which compelled the Government to grant facilities to the Allies, witho'lt thereby exceeding the limits of neutrality. Larissa reports that tho removal of the troops from Thessaly has begun, and is expected to be completed in a fortnight.
