MUSICIANS' UNION AWARD. The Arbitration Court lias fixed an award with rcspcot'to the rates of pay and conditions of labour for the Wellington Performing Musicians' Union, as from October 1, 1916, till Ootober !.,_ 1(119. The pay of performers in Wellington at general theatrical ."performances,'including operatic, dramatic, comedy, vaudeville (other than permanent), is fixed at £3 10s. a week for six performances, all performers to bo paid 10s. for each matinee. Performers at permanent picture shows aro to lie paid £3 a week for six performances, averaging not more than 2Jhours for each performance, all time in excess of 2J hours to bo paid for at the. rate of 2s. Cd. an hour. Performers at continuous picture shows are to be paid £3 10s. a week for day sessions between the hours of 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., and £3 ss. a week for evening sessions between the hours of 6 and 10.30 p.m. The rates for touring are fixed at n minimum of £4 >10s. a week for each performer, casual performers to receive 20 per cent, over and above the pro rata weekly wage. The scape of the award is limited to a radius of live miles from the General Post Office, Wellington, in respect io indoor engagements, and to a radius

of 25 -miles with respect to outdoor engagements. COACHWORKMtS' AWARD. Tiio award in rospeofc to tho Welling, ton Coachworkers 5 Union provides for a week of 47 hours, wages being fixed on an hourly basis, and to ho not less than Is. 6d. an hour for a journoyroan. All time worked in excess of 8} hours in any one day except Saturday shall ho paid for at a rat-o of time and a quarter for the first three hours, and timo and.a half thereafter. Work done on Now Year's Day, Easter Monday, Sovereign's Birthday, Labour Day, or Boxing Day shall be paid for at the rate of timo and a half. Tho usual under-rate workers tad preferenco clauses aro included. Tho scope of tho award is tho Wellington Industrial District, and the currency from November 13,1916, till September 22, 1919. AN AMENDED AWARD. Hie award made on May 15, 1916 for the Storemen and Packers' Union has beeai amended by. adding. ffio following provision to 'Clause I"An ordinary day's work shall not exceed nine hours, and' (notwithstanding anything hereinafter contained') overtime shall bo paid for any timo in excess of nine hours on any one day."
