The question, of an extension of Sir ■ Thomas Mackenzie's- term of office :aa High; Commissioner -for'' New; Zealand'' 1 is-being considered. It is understood that Sir Joseph. Ward is likely to succeed Sir Thomas Mackenzie, who will ultimately return to New Zealand, and 1 ' re-enter politics.
