There was a fair attendance, and tho course was satisfactory. A total of £30,163 passed through the totalisator, compared with .£31,946 on the corresponding day last year.. Tho total return for the meeting 6hpwed an increase of over the receipts of the meeting last year. In the Steeplechase Mollyhawk fell on the flat, breaking a leg. . Black Bobs and Warhead had the early lead, followed by Mollyhawk and Tiniroto. The order, was maintained until the final round, when Warhead went to the front, with Tiniroto. In a good finish Tiniroto stayed best, winning by half a length from Kaiwhakaliaero, who finished very fast. Warhead was four lengths away. Timo, Grain 32sec. \ . A quarter'of a mile from hiime Colonel Soult closed on the leader, and, going on, won comfortably by a length and a half from El Gallo, who finished fast from a long way back.
