ORPHANS' CLUB
The "Wellington Orphans' Club has just, concluded the most successful season in the history of.the club. Its members are ever, to the fore in assisting patriotic and charitable movemerits, and seldom a programme is presented Tn Wellington which does not include talent from this popular club. Last week the sum of £54 was handed to the Our Day Red ' Cross Fund, whilst recently £35 was handed to the fund for the dependants of those who lost their lives in the great North Sea battle. About seventy-five orphans are at the iront,_ whilst six have already given their lives for the great cause. During the year Mr. Mat Carr presented the club with a very fine roll of honour, with, each name inscribed on a silver plate. The secretary has sent Christmas letters to orphans at the front, t'o show they are not forgotten by their comrades who aro unable to bo in the fighting line.
