Mac Donald) states that as regards tho matter of storage charges, tho representations of_tho Meat Export Companies on tho subject are under consideration in London, and a final arrangement will 110 doubt be made shortly. It is no use further discussing tho matter hero at present, as tho Prime Minister is fully acquainted with tho facts and will do what is possible to, conclude a fair and . reasonable arrangement. •_ Regarding the suggestion that a reduction in tho amount of storage charges would mean increased cost to 'the producer, there is nothing in tho present position to warrant s thifc. The -submitted by the" freezing companies would, if accepted, involve 'only a very moderate reduction in the 'amount to be paid by the Board of Jade, and in any case he considered that tiie companies have no desire to «o otherwise than inako fair and rcas- " onablo arrangements for > the season with in the matter of freezing and'other charges.

Some thirty years ago an event occurred which resulted in great benefit to sheejvfarmers. This was the placing on the market of Mutton's Sheep Dip.
