' 4 -rr ■ I ■ FOE "OUR DAY" FUNDS. ' On Saturday evening in the large Town Hall the n.c.o.'s of the Twentyfourth Reinforcements, by kind permission of Colonel Potter, in conjunction with the Wellington Savage Club, are giving an entertainment of a unique nature, in aid of the, Red Cross Fund. In the first half all tho items are being given by themen from Trentham, while the second half is being supplied by tho Wellington Savage Club, who are. repeating their popular ''Trench Revue.'" The n.c.o.'s items are of a particularly high order, there being some quite exceptional talent among them, as will be sen from the following list, of items:—Duet, "The Battle Eve," Corporals Hannah'* and Joll; song,' "Toreador Hola." Corporal Nees; monologue (selected),' Corporal Feuton (champion elocutionist of Christchurch); song, "Chip of tho Okl Block," Lieut. A. Oakey; > song, "Friend o' Mine," Corporal Hannah; quartet, "The Dear Little/Shamrock," Twenty-fourth Quartet; song, "King Charles," Corporal Joll (Christchurch's leading bass), and fire club swinging exhibition by Captain Potter (champion fire club swinger, who will-perform a double back somersault whilo swinging). The accompaniments will be played l by Coroporal Dinglo . The'- second half, the "Trench Revue," is also of a vory 'high' order, the outstanding features being:—Chorus, "Merriest Fellows"; "Spotty," N. E. Aitken; "The Drummer," E. J. Hill and chorus; "Two Grenadiers," C. L. Green; "Perils of Paulino," Albert Russell; "Spin, Spin," Double Quartet; "The Prime Minister's Cable," A. Russoll and A. W. Newton; "The Bymn of Hate,"- four Huns; "Gassidy, V.C.," W. B. Keancy; "Long, Long Trail," C. W. Moore and chorus; "Visit of Sir James Carroll," J. F. Carr; chorus,. "Bye-bye, Caroline," "Rule Britannia," E. J. Hill. , Tho box plan is now open at the Bristol, where tickets to all parts may be purchased. The Trentham Baud and Wellington Savago Club orchestra are also assisting.
