The Imperial Government agreed to the proposal, but stipulated for a siege gun battery instead of a battery of heavier field guns or field howitzers. Accordingly a New Zealand siege gun battery is to be formed. _ New Zealand will havo to _ keep up reinforcemnts on the new unit, but theso will amount to only about 50 men a year.
