SOLDIER KILLED

TRAIN ACCIDENT • AT LOWER HUTT. A distressing-fatality, resulting in the death of a member of the Nineteenth Reinforcements, occurred at tlie Hu'tt railway station at about 11.iO o'clock last night. The man killed was Sergeant \i. Iv. Jl'Vicars, 0 Coy., Nineteenth Reinforcements, and ho met his death by being run over by the train on which he was a passenger. Sergeant M'Vicars was returning to Trentham, and at Lower Hutt alighted. As the train was leaving the station he attempted to step aboard, but evidently .missed his footing, and fell between a carriage and the platform, and was killed instantaneously. Further particulars were noiTavailable last evening. The biKiy was taken to Trenthara fa}' the military authorities.
