RIFLE SHOOTING
— e SUBURBS ,CLUB. Tho Suburbs Defence Rifle Club opened their shooting; season on Saturday at the club's range, lliramar. Owing to the unsettled state of tho weather only a fair attendance was present on the range. The day was not too good for high scores, a strong northerly wind blowing during tho nrogress of the match, varying from Tight to left, which puzzled the competitors. A cup, presented by Morrison and Morrison, of Christchurch, was won by C. ■T. Stewart, who also won the sweepstake for the afternoon shoot. Stewart, a junior shot, gives great promise of being one of the club's best shots in the near future. The Club Championship series. open at Miramar on Saturday, next at ranges 300, 500, and 600 yds; seven-shot match. The following are the scores on Saturday :— 300 500 600
