MOSGIEL WOOLLEN COMPANY. Tho directors of the Mosgiel Woollen Company., in their forty-third annual bal-ance-sheet, congratulate shareholders on the satisfactory result shown for tho operations of the past year. Tho profit and loss account shows ; a balance (including the amount carried forward) of £20,174 12s. 4d., after writing off the Bum of £5000 for depreciation, £2510 cost of replacements during tho year. £1000 placed to marine nsurance furia, and writing off £200 office furniture and_ £201 10s., 9d. unexpired insurance premiums. The'directors recommend that a dividend of 7 per cent, be paid, and. a bonus of 2 per cent., which will absorb' £7511 3s. 6d., leaving £12 663 Bs. 10d., to be carried forward to credit of the profit and loss account for the now current year.
WOOL, SKIN AND HIDE SALE. Messrs. Murray, Roberts and Co., reSorting on the ski» and hide sale of Friay last, state:—We offered e, catalogue of 4000 skins, 360 hides and calfskins, besides sundries, to a largo attendance of buyers. Sheepskins were again in- keen demand, especially for medium and. coarse wools, sound pelted, prices being quite up to last. sale. Inferior pelted skins also sold well at prices slightly better than those of last sale. We offered a large consignment of salted skins, which, made very hic;h figures,' up to 17a. being paid for a line of super heavy crossbred. Hides' showed an advance of Jd. for cows, whilo ox sold at last sale's prices. Calfskins also 'brought prices oqual to late rates, while tallow was firm.
LONDON SHEEPSKINS MARKET. Messrs. Murray, Itoberts and oo.| Ltd.., navo received the following cablegram from their London agents, under date October 26:—"Sheepskins: Merino, fullwoolled, advanced halfpenny; crossbred, par to one farthing advance: pelts advanced one penny to a penny halfpenny." The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company. Ltd., have received the following cableEram from their London house under'date October Z6:-"Sheep-skins: Merino combing Jd., clothing id., crossbred clothing and pelts lid. dearer." . LONDON WOOL SALES. Australian-New Zealand Oahle Association, (Rec. October 29, 5.5 p.m.) ' London, October 28. At the wool sales there was a .small offering of crossbreds, prices hardening. There was a miscellaneous selection of merinos. Good sooureds were slightly dearer. "Maori" (Now Zealand clip), top 25d., average 21i'd. Messrs. Dolgety and Company. Limited, report having received the following cablegram from their London house under date of October 26:—"Wool sales continue; keen.' competition as compared with September, close. Greasy merino" [ißOod, and medium 5 per cent, to 7£ per cent.,- faulty,.par to 5 per cent.; scoured, good, 2J per cent, to 5 per cent. Medium and faulty, 5 per cent, dearer; crossbreds. greasy and scoured line, 71 per cent..; medium and coarse, 5 per cent.: faulty, 5 per cent, dearer-; slipes slights ly dearer. Sheepskins: 3050 bales otfercd, Ipractioally all sold. Moderate attendance, rather irregular, competition as compared with; September.
