TERRIFIC FIGHTING IN GALICIA AND VOLHYNIA

Terrific fighting continues in Galicia and Volhynia. The Turkish divisions in the enemy's' line are composed of picked troops, and are fighting bravely, but there is positive evidence that they often murder tho Russian wounded. Turkish prisoners explain that the Germans told them that tho Russians would shoot every Turkish prisoner. Somo officers who wero taken prisoner asked the Russians whether thoir execution would take place on tho spot, or later, in tho rear. When found that they were being humanely treated, they agreed to write letters to the Turks, stating the facts, which the Russian aviators will distribute in tho Turkish lines. When the Russians captured som© Austrian trenches at Dorna Vatrathoy found that they wero constructed on a now plan, which forces tho enemy's soldiers to fight in any circumstances. The trenches aro thrice a man's height, and closed with heavy doors, the keys of which tho officers keep. RUSSIAN OFFICIAL COMMUNIQUE. London, October 27, A Russian official communique states: "We repulsed the Germans south of Riga. Our advanced posts fell back to tho cast bank of the Sbaia (north of Baranovitobi)."
GERMAN REPORTS INDICATE BIG RUSSIAN OFFENSIVE (Rcc. October 29, 5.5. p.m.) London, October 28. A wireless message from Rome states that German reports indicate ibat a new and great Russian offensive is b.eing prepared in Galicia and Poland.
