'A BAimania.ii official communique states: "We rojmleed violent attacks at Tulghes and Bicaz, in the Trotus Valley. Wo continue Xo advance in the XJzm Valloy. Fighting is proceeding south-west of the Predcal Pass. We repulsed a violent attack in the Paravatz Valley, in the region of Dragos Lavele. We repulsed attacks west of the Alt. Wo withdrew in tho Jiul Valley towards tho southern exit of the pass." (Rec. October 29, 5.5 p.m.) A Rumanian 1 communique states: "We retook Pisonl, in the Trotas Valley. The. enemy fled in disorder. We drove back tho enemy in the Ushi Valley, taking nine hundred prisoners, with great booty. We commenced an attack in the Buzic Valley, where fighting continues. We took prisoner three hundred in the Dragos Lavele region. We vigorously attacked .tho enemy in' the Jiul Valley, and completely vanquished him. Our offensive continues. We took prisoner 450 men, three guns, and sixteen machine-guns. The enemy left a thousand dead on the field. Tho situation in the Dobrudja is unchanged." RUSSIAN OFFICIAL COMMUNIQUE. . _ . London, October 27. A- Russian official communique states: "The Rumanians on tho west frontier of Moldavia captured Bolianj north-west of Okua and tho Piatrarotkul Heights.south-west of Okua. The Rumanians arrested an enemy offensive ■ on the Wallachian frontier. There is fierce fighting on both banks of the Jiul. Tuff"enemy is attacking on the whole front in the Dobrudja. The Russo-Rumaaiian army ie resisting and returning north of the Hirsova-Kacap-Rioy line." "

Odessa, October 27. The British, Russian. and French Consuls have arrived here. They n'ere among the last to leave Constanza. The last train left for Cernavoda when the enemy was already bombarding the line. In spite of a ceaseless and heavy bombardment of tho port, Russian sailors, who romained after the troops and population had gone, worked most bravely in burning the huge grain elevators, and stores of cereals, flour, and oil. Refugees stato that enemy aeroplanes dropped proclamations in the towu, exhorting the Rumanians not to be afraid, as the invaders were friends. They also dropped packets of poisoned sweets, bearing false marks, intended to denote that tho packets •were of Russian origin. Four English aeroplanes, with eight aviators', flew a distance of 312J miles, from Imbros to Bucharest,_in five'hours. One hundred and twenty-eight French, aeroplanes have arrived m Rumania.
