The French Ministry of Munitions contemplates the establishment of a hugo arsenal in the centre of France, covering nine hundred aores, with a building to cost four millions sterling. M. Thomas (the French Minister for Munitions) considers that private firms will be likely to turn to pcaco work after the war, but France must not slacken her preparations, especially in view of tho possibility of ..protracted peace negotiations. The scheme will also enable tho, Stato to assist in tho reconstruction of industry in the invaded territory by supplying tools and machinery. The Ministry contemplates a model city for workers. DARDANELLES INQUIRY FIRST PART OF THE INVESTIGATION COMPLETED. Australian-New Zealand Gable Association. London, October 25. The Dardanelles Commission has concluded that part of its investigations, which deal with the inception of the enterprise. It is now examining witnesses as to the actual conduct of the operations. The Commission has unanimously decided not to issuo an interim -report, as the matters cannot bo communicated to the public while the war is in progress. 1 .
