"SWAT THAT FLY."
Sir, —I have been reading 'in The Dominion how the City Council are going to work to get rid of the fly nuisance. Well, sir, it'struck mo they had better begin "at home." We have in tho midst of the most populated part of the City a real paradise for flics to breed in millions. I refer to the Zoo, which is the flies' delight. Without going info ■ details, the dead horses alone are enough to make blue bottles leavo the Hutt Road (and wo all know now thick it is along there). Before* inoro money is spent on tho Zoo, it ought to be moved to tho country without delay. I understand they are doing this in Sydney for the above reason. Auckland was very wiso when they refused a Zoo!—I am, etc., A CONSTANT READER. October 20. Auother correspondent writing on the subject directs attention of the, council to a stable and a fish-cleanine; establishment right in the heart of tho City, and wants to know what is the use of fly-killing compaigns tho City has no special regulations dealing with such places.
