CATHOLIC EDUCATION BOARD
The quarterly meeting of tho Catho-' lie Education Board was held in ■ St.' Patrick's Hall on Wednesday evening. St. Joseph's Parish Committee Toported that a saving of over £50 a year had been effected in the interest payable oil the Marist Brothers' residence, the whole of the mortgage being nowpaid off by a special effort of the parishioners) directed by the Rev. Father Hurley. The infants' school in Tasman Street had also been completely ronovated, free of cost to tlio board._ Mr. J. J. L. Burke, vice-chairman, who donated a parcel of company shares for the benefit of the fund, was heartily thanked for his generosity. The election.of office re for tho ensuing year resulted as follows: —Patron, His Grace Archbishop Redwood; chairman, His Graco Coadjutor Archbishop O'Shea; vice-chairman, Mr. J. J. L.
