GAS EXPLOSION
NAPIER POWER-HOUSE

An explosion occurred at the Napier Power-house at 3 a.m. on Sunday, caused by gas igniting during' burningout operations in connection with the manifold. Three scrubbers -were shifted out of position, and one condensed was badly damaged. A man named Carson was blown off a- ladder by the explosion, and received severe burns about the arms. He is progressing favourably. This is the, second explosion, of this nature that has occurred at the Napier Power-house, the first one being caused in exactly the same way.
