Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report:—At tlic usual fortnightly salo yesterday good prices Tvero ' obtained all roundf/or skins, hides, and tallow. Good weight and texture hides gold; at a slight advance on last sale's prices, and calfskins also showed an advance, whilst other lines '"were at par.' Sheepskins realised extreme rates, with'a further advance for damp and malted lines. Messrs. Levin aud Co. report that- they offered:lßs bales of wool, comprised mostly of crutchings- aud some baling of last. Season's fleece and dead wool. There was good bidding and crutchings advanced id. to 3d. all round. This,, the firm consider, is very satisfactory considering buyers have the extra freights to pay. .Sheepskins: Notwithstanding the increased cost of Shipping, owing to rises in freights, the market advanced id. for bests and id. for inferior sorts. Hes&rs. Hurray, Roberts, and Co.,- Ltd.. report that they offered a catalogue of 3000 sheepskins, 450 hides, with 120 bales of wool, principally crutchings, and the usual tallow offerings. There was a large attendance of buyers, aud the sale was very spirited throughout, prices for crutchings showing an average advance of id, per lb. over last sale, fleeces selling "alscL.at slightly better prices. There was a kcen'demapd for sheepskins, arid the firm secured l3ld: -for. a line of medium crossbred skins, which "is-about the top price as yet paid for sheepskins in this market.
