CONTROL OF WOOL

MANY DIFFICULTIES j PLANS MAY BE MODIFIED Australian-New Zealand Cablo Association. London, October 6. The "Vorksliiro Post," in connection with the Anny Council's negotations to secure tho control of colonial wool, says that the difficulties which have arisen may lend to a modification of tho whole plan. It is obvious _ that the _ sanio scliemo should bo put into operation in relation to all tho colonies, but it has hitherto been impossible to arrive at a common agreement. - It is unreasonable to cxpect that Australia and Now Zealand would quiotly submit to further restrictions if South Africa retains tho freo market which sho has possessed ever since the war commonced. There has been severe criticism 011 South Africa's action in permitting unrestricted export. H South Africa persists-in her frco export policy, it is bound to react unfavourably for us in other wool-growing colonios.
